Finding satisfaction in your work through others.
There are many kinds of things which give us satisfaction on an everyday basis. We are creative creatures and need to make things to feel like we are fulfilling our purpose. It’s always nice to get a pat on the back from others on a job well done and that is one way to get some satisfaction from others. But sometimes you don’t need approval or a compliment to feel good about your work but someone else can still give you that happiness.
So we have been building a skatepark in Pune with the 100ramps crew (go check our YouTube channel for videos). The local skaters here have been showing up to the construction eager to help in any way. Working hard sometimes even late into the night doing things like tying rebar, cleaning up things and no job is too small. Just the fact that the locals are so happy to come help, shows their interest and commitment. It reminds me of us when we started shovelling dirt to get involved. The knowledge that these people are going to use and love this space we are making gives me immense pleasure. Its not what the locals say but what they do . Big shout out to Pune SB guys who don’t know how rare it is for the local skate crew to not shy away from hard work. We are just done with the first section and the local crew had a go at the bowl. The smiles just lit up the place and that kind of satisfaction just emanates seemingly from the atmosphere itself. The stoke will live on as long as there are people who love what they do.
